STORY
NEVER GROW UP is a film about MOD and the answer to the following questions.
What does MOD mean and where does MOD come from?
Whatever happened to the MODS from the 60s and 80s?
Is MOD still relevant today ? Are there young MODS?
Together with MOD icon Eddie Piller and filmmaker Nico Beyer we are going on an enbtertaining, colorful and musical journey. Starting at the modern jezz scene in New Yorks Harlem to get to the Nouvelle Vague. Modernists in Paris to Swinging London in the 60s and the rise of british music with Bands, such as THE WHO, THE KINKS or THE SMALL FACES.
Fights between Rockers and MODS on the beaches of Brighton. Northern Soul Frenzy in Bristol and Blackpool in the 70s. The MOD REVIVAL and the Jam ( 1980s ) and the story of BRIT POP throughout the 90s.
2025: MODS ARE BACK. A young generation is out for authenticity and turns its back to plastic music and mainstream. There is a band, which speaks for them : THE MOLOTOVS. We will meet characters, who we follow throughout all three episodes.

TOMMY MC GUINESS, who runs the MARQUIS PUB in Covent Garden. He is a MOD
and made the MARQUIS into a MOD hotspot.
BODO GOLIASCH, he was the, once famous ( in germany ) Band STUNDE X.
His nightmare was: what, if I wake up and I am the only MOD left in the world.
Exactly this happened to him. He ist still a MOD with the old values.
THE MOLOTOVS. Issey and Matt are busking since they were 12 years old.
Starting with songs from BLONDI; THE JAM and the SEX PISTOLS. We follow
their way to international success. In 2025 they have released their first album WASTED ON YOUTH and are going on a big US tour with the SEX PISTOLS.
CHICO a MOD from Sao Paulo (Brazil), who just arrived in London to find his way in life.
TECH
INTRO
We will create an iconic intro, which will unite the three episodes as a series. We will (deliberatly) not work with CGI or AI. We prefer to shoot on 16mm film.
PRODUCTION
NEVER GROW UP is shot on 6 - 8 K didgital video plus some sequences onto 16 and Super 8 mm Film. We are using FUJI, NIKON and ARRI cameras and DZO lenses - plus gimble and drone from DJI.
